What to expect

Many wallpaper projects require the expertise of a professional installer.  Often the manufacturer, distributor, and interior designers will all document their recommendation for a installation. 

When working directly with a interior designer, the process usually follows this sequence of events:

•  Consultation between Designer and Client for wallpaper selection.

•  Consultation between Designer and Installer for material amounts and installation costs.

•  Retention of Installer and scheduling of installation by Designer.

•   Correspondence between Installer and Client about needs: time frames, access, wall covering on site, wall covering clearly marked for room, area for set-up, pet or small children considerations.

•  Consideration for Wall Covering:  Appropriate room temperature, humidity, and ventilation, primer  sealer, adhesive, liner or bridging paper requirements.

•  Consideration for Wall Preparation: R&R hardware to include possibly light fixture or vanity, access to water, light and electricity, wall repair if required, application of primer sealer, any application of liner paper or muslin, drying times

•  Consideration for Installation:  Access, safety, engineering the space for optimal amount of wall covering and pattern symmetry, due diligence for manufacture recommended installation techniques  and particular adhesive requirements, appropriate tools, equipment

•  Client contacts Installer.  The Installer schedules an on -site visit to measure the area for wall covering amount, assess the difficulty level for type of wall covering selected and level of difficulty of area selected for installation.  To forgo an on-site visit, the client may provide wall measurements and wall covering specifications directly to the Installer.

•  Consultation between Installer and Client:  The Installer provides to the Client an estimate for  the amount or wall covering required for the job and a cost estimate for materials and labor.

•  Client retains Installer for the job and schedules a date(s) for installation.

•  Considerations for Wall Covering, Wall Preparation and Installation remains same as above.
